Google Store (the brickandmortar kind) planned for Georgetown
Nov 14, 2024
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Google has its sights set on Georgetown, hoping to open a brick-and-mortar store that will feature its devices, similar to what people might envision when they think of an Apple Store.
The proposed location of the Google Store in the 3200 block of M St. NW would join a handful of other locations in the country which offer the company's products as well as services, such as device repair.

ANC Commissioner Mimsy Lindner (2E05) said the company submitted an application to the Old Georgetown Board (OGB), an advisory board that consists of three architects whom the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) appoints to review Georgetown projects. OGB hears presentations, reviews staff comments, and makes recommendations to CFA for final adoption.
There was no specific timeline given for the project if Google gets the green light. DCNewsNow.com reached out to Google for comment.
