FORECAST: Beneficial rain returns to DMV
Nov 14, 2024
Happy Thursday, DMV! Well, after a dry start to our Thursday morning, showers have started to roll their way into the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, NOVA, and Western Marland. As for timing, looks to roll through DC around midday. Rain will fill in across the region with some pockets of steady to heavy rain popping up later this evening for the commute. This could complicate the commute due to the sun setting earlier and it getting darker so early and with the rain creating puddles or ponding on some roadways, it will likely be a slow go for your commute home. Also, be mindful that the fallen leaves will make it even more slick out there.
Rain will continue overnight before departing early tomorrow morning ahead of the morning rush, but the roadways will likely still remain damp at least. Rainfall amounts could reach 0.50" to an inch, with higher amounts expected for the Shenandoah Valley.
Drier conditions move in for Friday while the clouds linger a little bit longer. Sunshine breaks out for the weekend with a slight warmup as the 60s return. This warmth sticks around as we start off the next work week, too.
