New York State Public Service Commission launches audit of Frontier Communications
Nov 14, 2024
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The New York State Public Service Commission has launched an audit into Frontier Communications Parent. Inc. due to concerns over service quality, missed payments, and more.
According to the commission, Frontier has failed to meet quality performance requirements, failed to report problems to state regulators, and may have issues with network reliability. The commission said Frontier may have also delayed broadband expansion in the region due to its slow pace with infrastructure work on utility poles.
The goal of the audit is to, "determine the extent to which service quality concerns are ongoing and to identify any necessary remedial measures to ensure the company provides customers with adequate service."
An independent consultant will be selected to conduct the audit. The commission expects that to happen in early 2025.
