New details revealed for Rochester Riverside renovation project
Nov 14, 2024
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — COMIDA has posted documents shedding new light on the renovation project happening at the former Rochester Riverside Hotel.
The application for the project was posted to their website Thursday morning, which involved reconstructing the 14-story building and its parking garage to accommodate restaurant and retail space, affordable apartments and hotel guest rooms, a banquet and meeting space, and around 329 parking spaces.
News 8 learned during a COMIDA meeting Thursday morning that, if the project is approved and started quickly, construction would be finished sometime in 2027.
It was announced in 2019 that the hotel was going to close. The building closed its doors in 2020. The original plans were to make the hotel the site of a new performing arts center, which fell through when Tom Golisano pulled funding from the project.
COMIDA's next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19.
