North Providence police stop results in seizure of stolen gun

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A North Providence man has been arrested after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of an allegedly stolen firearm.
Jhorian Rincon, 21, was puled pulled over on Fruit Hill Avenue Wednesday for several alleged motor vehicle infractions.
Rincon was allegedly found to be driving an unregistered vehicle on a suspended license, according to North Providence police.
Officers later discovered an unloaded revolver hidden under the front passenger seat of the vehicle, and the weapon was later found to be stolen, according to police.
Rincon was arrested for possession of a firearm.
The North Providence Police Department Detective Unit is investigating if the weapon has been used in any criminal activity.
