NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — With Thanksgiving just two weeks away, fall weather is slowly arriving. This weekend features events to be experienced outdoors, as well as performance art to be enjoyed within the comforts of the city’s finest theaters. Here are Where Y’at’s picks! Starting Thursday evening, Nov. 14 to Nov. 17, Luna Fête is a free, multi-day event that creates an immersive visual and audio experience. Buildings spanning from Gallier Hall to the Piazza d’Italia will be illuminated with projections of contemporary art and accompanied by music. Next, Thursday, Nov. 14 Moonlight Market is the Market Umbrella’s fundraising event that celebrates the farmers and food businesses that nourish our communities. This festive evening at the Station on the Lafitte Greenway features New Orleans’ finest restaurants, garden-to-glass cocktails, live music and raffles. The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing three pieces for their cosmic-themed concert, The Planets, on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Orpheum Theater. This family-friendly show will feature The Planets by Gustav Holst, Nocturnes by Claude Debussy, and more. Finally, the dance company Giordano Dance Chicago will be performing on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. Giordano Dance Chicago is one of the longest-running jazz dance companies in the world. Their New Orleans debut will be a tribute to American composer George Gershwin.
