NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — On Tuesday, Lora Villasana said she heard a scream outside her house. When she walked out her front door, she found her daughter’s backpack on the ground while the school bus driver was yelling for help. She says the school bus driver told her a pack of four dogs began to jump and bark at her seven-year-old daughter Aurelia. She immediately called police. “There was really no report because she didn’t get bitten,” Villasana said. Jessamine County Animal Care and Control came out to the neighborhood, but did not take the dogs. The Jessamine County ordinance says any canine that is not restrained by their owner on public property may be impounded, which is what Villasana was hoping for. “You shouldn’t have animals if you’re not going to take care of them and just let them roam,” she said. The bus driver is now picking Aurelia up at a different location because of these dogs. We reached out to Jessamine County Animal Care and Control but have not heard back.
