KOKOMO, Ind. -- The Kokomo Police Department is asking for help in identifying individuals who were reportedly involved in a shooting that occurred on Tuesday evening north of downtown. According to a news release from the department, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 900 block of North Washington Street at around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. When officers arrived they found a local business had sustained damage. IMPD: 2 arrested after near northwest side traffic stop Not long after officers responded to the scene, an 18-year-old man was dropped off at a Kokomo hospital with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to an Indianapolis hospital and is reportedly in critical, but stable, condition. After an initial investigation, officers believe that two vehicles arrived in the 900 block of North Washington, one of which was a Ford SUV and the other being a Tesla. A reported altercation occurred and the 18-year-old was shot by "individual(s) connected with the Ford SUV" which officials believe contained two or more occupants. The release said that the Ford SUV fled southbound on Washington Street. Investigators are attempting to identify the occupants of the SUV or any others who reportedly ran from the scene.
