RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies say three men have been arrested after an early morning warrant service in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 1400 block of Bluff Road, say Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities say the shooting happened on Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the 1400 block of Bluff Road around 11 p.m.
Deputies responded to a shooting at the location and found a man with a gunshot wound to his upper body area.
An investigation revealed that a fight had broke out between two groups of people when it escalated to one person pulling out a gun and began firing multiple shots.
Several days later, Richland County investigators were informed that there were two additional individuals that had sustained gunshot wounds, and one a juvenile, says RCSD.
Only one of the three victims was involved in the altercation; the other two victims were passerby’s walking home after a USC football game when they were hit by gunfire.
RCSD says through the investigation, the shooter was identified as Wendell Snow.
Snow was charged with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and simple possession marijuana.
“There is nothing more selfish than to put other people’s lives at risk to make yourself look tough. Here, we have an individual who chose to use a gun to solve his problems in the middle of a large crowd of innocent people just trying to get home from a football game.,” says Sheriff Leon Lott.
In the early morning hours of November 14, RCSD’s Fugitive Task Force and Special Response Team served arrest warrants at Snow’s residence, where Terrell Singletary and Dominque Rivers were also present, and arrested.
After taking Snow into custody, RCSD investigators obtained and served a search warrant for the home which revealed multiple firearms, one of which is stolen out of Florence, and multiple narcotics.
Investigators say the discovery of the stolen firearm and narcotics led to the arrests of Singletary and Rivers.
Singletary was charged with possession of a stolen pistol; and Rivers was charged with possession of a schedule V drug.
All three men were booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Sheriff Leon Lott asked that game fans continue to travel in groups and stay aware of your surroundings.
