THE LATEST:
CHARLOTTE, NC – A track coach at Charlotte Country Day School has been fired after police arrested him on charges of indecent liberties with a student.
The school sent a letter to parents on Wednesday to let them know about the arrest of 39-year-old Matthew Elliott. The letter says the alleged misconduct happened with an alum when the woman was an Upper School student within the past few years.
Country Day says it placed Elliott on administrative leave after learning about his arrest, and then fired him and barred him from their campuses.
Elliott is supposed to face a judge Thursday afternoon.
