LSP: Baby, man killed in murdersuicide after pursuit in Ascension Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - The Louisiana State Police is investigating a murder-suicide that happened on Thursday, Nov. 13 in Convent.
The shooting took the life of a 23-year-old man and a 1-year-old child.
LSP said, "The preliminary investigation revealed that the Gonzales Police Department and Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office were involved in a vehicle pursuit that ended in St. James Parish."
At the end of the pursuit, the man was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
They also found that the child was shot and died at the scene.
The St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office requested that LSP investigate this shooting and they will provide assistance in this case.
