BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) - The Louisiana State Police is investigating a murder-suicide that happened on Thursday, Nov. 13 in Convent. The shooting took the life of a 23-year-old man and a 1-year-old child. LSP said, "The preliminary investigation revealed that the Gonzales Police Department and Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office were involved in a vehicle pursuit that ended in St. James Parish." At the end of the pursuit, the man was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he later died. They also found that the child was shot and died at the scene.
