Father Brian McCormick has lived a lifetime offering service and guidance to residents. From the 1970s until his retirement in 2012, Father Brian championed causes connected to food, shelter, clothing, affordable housing, home ownership, preschool and after school programs, plus, numerous other outreaches. Father Brian achieved myriad successes as he cultivated a dynamic network of community connections through the Diocese of Trenton’s Martin House. His life receives admiration on Wednesday, Nov. 20th at noon when city officials name a portion of East State St. near Chambers St. — ‘Father Brian McCormick Way.’ A biography entitled, “A Radical Heart: Making Black Lives Matter Through Faith and Action: The Father Brian McCormick Story”, by Mary Callahan, captures the essence of this city icon. A reception will be held following the ceremony at Better Community Housing located at 802 East State St.
