AM Headlines: Cold and Rainy Today Windy in the Mountains Sunny and Warmer Weekend Tropical Depression Nineteen has formed Discussion: An upper level disturbance will bring a cold rain across the region today. Expect rain to stretch from the morning commute through the evening commute before clearing. Highs will struggle to break out of the upper 40s to lower 50s. Expect a steady, light rain throughout the day with totals up to .75″ to 1″ with locally higher totals for the mountains the and foothills of up to 1.5-2″ possible. It will be windy as well for the mountains with gusts up to 40 mph. A cold front will push through this evening bringing an end to the rain. Clouds will clear overnight with lows falling into the low to mid 40s. Sunny skies return Friday with highs back into the mid to upper 60s. Temperatures will continue to climb with highs near 70 early next week. Tropics Update: Tropical Depression Nineteen has formed in the Caribbean. It is expected to strengthen into a Tropical Storm later today as it moves westward toward Honduras. Sara is the next name on the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Name list. It will bring life threatening impacts to Central America. Rainfall totals of 20-30 inches will cause flash flooding and mudslides. Coastal regions could also see tropical to hurricane force winds, along with storm surge of 1-3 feet.
