ALLEGANY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- State officials in Maryland said they arrested a man who broke into his estranged girlfriend's home and left a suspected improvised explosive device.
The Maryland Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) said they responded to the 20300 block of Lower Georges Creek Road just after 1 a.m. on Nov. 11 after 62-year-old Andrew Ervin Romack forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's home.
Maryland State Police troopers arrested Romack and found "possible improvised explosive devices during their search of the property," according to a news release from the OSFM.

The Bomb Squad was requested to respond.
Bomb Technicians performed diagnostics on the devices and determined they had to perform render-safe procedures at the scene. No other explosive materials were found when they later searched the property and Romack's car.
Romack was arrested at the scene and taken to the Allegany County Detention Center. He was charged with manufacturing and possessing a destructive device, trespassing on private property, fourth-degree burglary, reckless endangerment and possession of an explosive device with intent.
He is being held without bond.
