FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Monopoly's Fresno edition board was unveiled at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo Wednesday night - and it's now officially available for purchase. "What we have tonight with Monopoly is not only an opportunity to put Fresno on the map but to put Fresno on the Monopoly board," Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer said. "I've been here my entire life. I know the incredible history that we have, the iconic features that we have, I know our culture very well, and what I want most of all is for other people who don't live in Fresno to know that history, that culture, and those iconic features; and now they're going to be able to this through the game of Monopoly." Some of the iconic locations include the Fresno Chaffee Zoo and Fresno State - both of which replace the highest stake dark blue properties on the original Park Avenue. Other sites include local restaurants and taprooms like Castillo's Mexican Food and Tioga Sequoia Brewing Company. Those looking to buy Monopoly's Fresno Edition and see what other iconic locations were chosen can purchase the board game online for $44.99 or at local stores. Fresno is the first and only city in the Central Valley to have a Monopoly board; other notable cities include Las Vegas, San Diego, and New York.
