Grab your umbrella! A weather system is bringing widespread rain to northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. This is great news for the drought that we have in place. Severe drought continues for the area Periods of rain will continue overnight through sunrise Thursday morning. Temperatures will range from the mid-40s to the lower 50s as you step out the door to go to work or school. Periods of rain continue through sunrise Thursday. After sunrise Thursday, the rain becomes more scattered in nature and eventually tapers off by our Thursday evening. So, while you'll need the rain gear Thursday, note the heavier rain activity will be more sporadic. The chance for a persistent mist/drizzle will exist though all day long. High temperatures will reach the mid-50s Thursday and we'll see occasional wind gusts up to 25 mph. Rain is more scattered during the day Thursday.Grab the umbrella if you have plans.Highs Thursday reach the mid-50s at most.We're drying out into Thursday night. When all is said and done, we'll enjoy a good soaking rainfall across the area. Amounts up to around an inch will be possible, but anticipate more locations to end up closer to three quarters of an inch. We'll end up with a good drink of water from this weather system.This is good news for the drought that remains in place. Skies will remain cloudy on Friday, with high temperatures in the low-to-mid 50s. We're cloudy and seasonable on Friday. Over the weekend, we'll be mostly cloudy on Saturday before turning overcast on Sunday. A few spotty showers are also possible Sunday. Highs will be in the mid-50s Saturday and in the upper 50s Sunday. Not much sunshine will be found this weekend, but temperatures will be above average. Next week will start off above average, but we're watching out for a more significant cold front to arrive later in the week. This front looks to bring us the coldest air of the season so far and perhaps our first snowflakes of the season. Stay tuned! Get ready for a big change late next week!
