FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Parkview Field has been home to summer fun in the Summit City for many years, and now they're adding a new tradition this winter. For 50 nights starting in November and lasting through the new year, “Holiday Lights” will bring more than 1 million lights and displays to the ballpark. The attraction opens to the public Thursday, Nov. 14, and will run through Jan. 4. You can expect holiday trains rides for the kids, smores stations, scavenger hunts, letters to Santa and more. Much like the summer, the ballpark will still be offering special promotions such as discounts on select concessions items on Tuesday, the option to bring your pets on Wednesdays, and you can't forget about the Thirsty Thursday sale on mixed drinks and draft beer. You can buy tickets on the TinCaps website or in person at the ballpark’s Orchard Team Store. Tickets throughout the month of November cost $10, while December is $12. For groups of 20 or more, the rate is $9 per person. The TinCaps and Downtown Fort Wayne confirmed in July that this means Parkview Field will no longer be the host of a free fireworks show to cap off Night of Lights, an annual tradition that brightens downtown Fort Wayne each year with festive displays that last throughout the season.
