CHARLOTTE, N.C. – SouthPark Community Partners (SCP) will launch the SouthPark Skipper service on Friday, November 15. The Skipper is a microtransit service for SouthPark residents, workers and visitors. It is a free, point-to-point shuttle service within the SouthPark district every day, from 9AM to 9PM. All of the vehicles are electric and on-demand. SCP says the service will provide an efficient, flexible mobility option. SCP says drivers are background checked and trained to provide a “safe, ambassador-like service.” The drivers are paid by SCP. Tips are appreciated, but not required. Riders 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult. To schedule a ride, download the Ride Freebee app. Select “SouthPark, Charlotte” in the app, or call 855-918-3733 to request a ride and accessibility accommodations. Select your pick-up and drop-off locations. The service is part of a one-year pilot program.
