METAIRIE, La. (BRPROUD) — After missing the last seven games with a groin injury that required surgery, Saints center Erik McCoy is expected to make his return to the field Sunday against the Browns.  A lot has changed for the Saints since McCoy was last on the field in Week 3. His injury marked the beginning of a downward spiral that led to the black and gold losing seven straight and firing their head coach, Dennis Allen. “It was hard just knowing that there was nothing I could do to assist or contribute any factor when it came to that," McCoy said. "But, you know, I believe in the guys in our room, and I believe that we can go out and execute for the rest of the season and do whatever is possible." Getting McCoy back is a huge boost for the Saints offensive line because he’s their glue guy. McCoy also does a lot of things that go unnoticed but were missed while he was out.  New Orleans Saints tasked with keeping the energy after snapping losing streak “Just his leadership, his ability to communicate when things aren't as scouted," Saints quarterback Derek Carr said. "His recall. He can fix problems on the fly. Things that no one will ever see. No one will ever know. When someone gets hurt, you don't just replace that person because they bring a certain way about them and skillset to be that guy. Anytime you get somebody back, you're excited for what they're able to bring as well.” McCoy's return comes as the Saints are set to face Browns star defensive lineman Myles Garrett. Garrett is eighth in sacks in the NFL this season and is highly respected.
