BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man was found guilty of driving under the influence and injuring a husband and wife in a crash in northwest Bakersfield back in 2022.
Sean Tokash faces six years in prison for the DUI crash that occurred April 23, 2022 at the intersection of Calloway and Olive drives, according to a statement from District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer's office.
Tokash's vehicle collided with another vehicle as he was traveling northbound on Calloway Drive after running a red light, leaving a husband and wife with severe injuries that included broken vertebrae. Two children in the victims' backseat were unharmed.
A bystander who remained on scene testified at trial that Tokash had almost struck him as he was making a left turn.
The Bakersfield Police Department later determined Tokash had a blood-alcohol content level of 0.089% and 0.095%.
Sentencing is set for Dec. 12.
