Jamie Lee Curtis deactivates her account on X

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis announced Wednesday that she has deactivated her account on the social platform X.
She announced her departure from the social media platform via Instagram, writing in the caption “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. Courage to change the things I can. And the wisdom to know the difference.”
Curtis did not provide a reason for why she was leaving X, the social media platform owned by tech billionaire Elon Musk, but the decision comes at a time when many people and organizations are reconsidering their ties to the platform.
Earlier Wednesday, the London-based news outlet The Guardian announced it was leaving the platform, citing “disturbing content.”
Musk was named the co-head of President-elect Trump’s “Department of Government Efficiency.”
Musk has increasingly been involved in Trump’s campaign, and concern is growing about what impact he will have on the administration.
Curtis wrote on Instagram after Trump won the election calling on Americans to “wake up and fight.”
“Fight for women and our children and their futures and fight against tyranny, one day at a time. One fight at a time. One protest at a time. That’s what it means to be an American. That’s what it has always meant and will always mean regardless of the outcome.”
