FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two residents were displaced Wednesday morning after a stovetop fire erupted in their Fresno home, the Fresno Fire Department said.
Firefighters say they responded to the apartment complex on Gettysburg Avenue near First Street just before 7:45 a.m. Once on scene, crews say they found flames in the kitchen that were beginning to spread to the attic space.
Although firefighters say they were able to extinguish the blaze quickly, the two occupants have been temporarily displaced.
No injuries were reported, in part thanks to working smoke alarms, which crews say gave the residents ample time to evacuate.
