International carnivorous chain Fogo de Chão touched down at the Wharf on Monday, November 11 (698 Maine Avenue SW). Located a 30-minute walk south of D.C.’s first Fogo on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, the latest locale is sizably smaller but does come with an extra perk: a pretty patio surrounded with fire pits. An open churrasco grill gives guests a 360-degree vantage point of gaucho chefs carving and roasting dry-aged proteins before they parade around the room. The Wharf’s endless meat-on-a-stick experience with a salad bar ($67.50) is a few bucks less than the D.C. original ($74) — where VP-elect J.D. Vance is a known customer as of late. There’s also area Fogos in Northern Virginia (Tysons, Reston) and Maryland (North Bethesda, National Harbor). Happy hour here is an all-day affair, complete with $10 Caipirinhas, $8 South American wines, and $5 beers. Fogo de Chão, founded in Southern Brazil in 1979, currently has over 70 locations spread across Brazil, the U.S., Mexico, and the Middle East. The Wharf’s Fogo, open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch out of the gate, donates 10 percent of opening week sales to charity No Kid Hungry.

The acclaimed Spanish restaurant is celebrating turning one with boozy specials till Saturday, November 16. The expansive selection of vermouths are celebrated during lunchtime with many of the fortified wine sold at half price. Today is Wine Wednesday, with all bottles from women-owned wineries selling for 50% off. Four Seasons DC’s Wine & Dine Festival is back

Eat plant-based at Jinya to donate to a musical charity
Aside from a selection of three vegan ramens, Jinya Ramen Bar locations across the D.C.-area serve up vegan tacos, bao buns, and rice bowls made with Impossible meat. For the month of November, Impossible Foods teams up with the ramen chain to donate $1 from every order of an Impossible-based dish to Musicians On Call, a charity that brings live music from talented musicians to ailing patients and caregivers.

After a decade of serving up fun, irreverent cocktails, McClellan’s Retreat is in party mode for the month of November. Be on the lookout for “surprise throwback specials” during 4 to 6 p.m. happy hours, with $6 Old Fashioneds and mystery punch deals announced on their social media the day of. Tonight, Slane Irish Whiskey slings $10 hot toddies and Old Fashioneds all night and founder Alex Conyngham will be meeting patrons at the Kalorama bar from 6 to 8 p.m. On Thursday, November 14, Maestro Dobel Tequila fuels $10 margaritas and hot ciders. Signature Pepperbox and The Belmont cocktails will be $10 on Sunday during a book signing with Travis Mitchell, the author of D.C. Cocktails: A Collection of Over 100 Recipes Inspired by the Capital City, which includes two McClellan’s Retreat cocktails in his book. The month of celebrations will come to a close with a private party on November 24 for “McClellanites,” the neighborhood regulars at the classic D.C. cocktail bar.
Silver Lyan extends hours to Sunday nights, invites pop-up bars
The award-winning, casually cool bar at the bottom of the Riggs Hotel will now be open Tuesday through Sunday, and favorite bars from across the country will be popping up in Silver Lyan’s space for one Sunday night each month. Birds of Paradise, a travel-themed drinking destination in Brighton, Massachusetts, will take over the subterranean bar on November 17 with visiting bartenders showing off a special cocktail menu.
