Seasonal parking limits begin this Saturday — and other winter reminders
Nov 13, 2024
Seasonal parking limits begin this Saturday in Summit County. That means no on-street parking on county roads (unless otherwise marked by the county) between Nov. 15 and April 15. Vehicles or other obstacles that hamper county snow removal operations will be towed or removed at the owner’s expense. The county said it will not assume any liability for damage to vehicles parked on the street or other obstacles placed in the county’s right-of-way in violation of this chapter. Further, damage to snow removal equipment resulting from contact with vehicles illegally parked in the county right-of-way shall be the responsibility of the vehicle owner or persons responsible for the obstacles placed in the County right-of-way — that’s according to Summit County Code 7-3-3.The county also released some other winter safety reminders. Snow removal hours are from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Operators are only allowed to drive up to 11 hours in any 24-hour period and up to 60 hours per week. All property owners must contain all of the snow from their property, including their driveway, onto their own property (according to Summit County Code 7-3-4 and 7-3-5). They may not push, blow or shovel their snow out onto the County road or into the County right-of way. Doing so creates hazards to plow operators and other drivers, the county said. All landscaping, mailboxes, markers, and other items placed in the County right-of-way are at risk. Damage to these items will not be the responsibility of the county (according to Summit County Code 7-3-10). “Crews do everything they can to avoid hitting these items. Any damage that may be caused to County snow removal equipment by the objects placed in the right-of-way may become the responsibility of the property-owner,” the county said on its website.See the full winter safety update at the county’s website. The post Seasonal parking limits begin this Saturday — and other winter reminders appeared first on Park Record.
