OXFORD, Miss. -- An 89-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder, authorities say. The Lafayette County coroner says Herman Slack killed his caretaker, 53-year-old Angela Cohran James. On Tuesday, around 6:48 a.m., the Oxford Police Department responded to a possible shooting in the 200 block of Herman Drive. When they arrived, officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
