Man accused in hitandrun case enters not guilty plea

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A man charged in connection with a hit-and-run case pleaded not guilty Wednesday afternoon, via Zoom from the Fayette County Detention Center.
21-year-old Logan Rogers is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident/Failure to Render Aid or Assist leading to Death or serious Physical Injury.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 47-year-old James David Stamper of Paris. The coroner says Stamper died of blunt trauma injuries he received in the accident.
Lexington police say the incident happened Monday night on Richmond Road near Squires Road involving a moped and another vehicle.
Rogers waived a formal arraignment. His next court date is scheduled for November 21. Rogers remains in the detention center.
