Local creator of cat toilet training kit kicked off Amazon

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Elizabeth Slone, creator of Kitty’s Loo, says she’s no longer allowed to sell her product on Amazon after a Chinese-owned company filed an infringement case against her.
“Supposedly he was claiming that my pictures and my products were his, Slone said. “I clicked on the link and everything that I had, my pictures of my cat and my bathroom, was on this Chinese website.”
Back in 2015, Slone invented Kitty’s Loo, drawing her inspiration from children’s toilet seats. She has both a patent and trademark for her product.
“This is made in Louisville and I’m proud to have everything made in the United States,” she said.
Before she began selling her product on Amazon, she went through the company’s brand registry. It’s made to protect seller’s intellectual property. Slone said her intellectual property was stolen, and now she’s working to get it back.
“It’s just heartbreaking, because the brand registry is supposed to protect me,” she said.
Kitty’s Loo has been off Amazon since November 9th. Slone says she’s eager to get her product back on the website for the holiday season.
“Four days [and] no income from that, and that’s a good income source,” she said.
Amazon says they are investigating this situation.
