KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- New details are emerging about Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes experiencing a new position off the field; the two Chiefs stars are now victims of crime. Patrick Mahomes addressed the news that he and his tight end's homes were burglarized and now, the FBI is working with law enforcement agencies on both sides of the state line. Now, many fans and those following the incidents are wondering how this could've happened. Ticketmaster looking into issue after family scammed out of Chiefs tickets The newest development is that the break-ins may not be a part of a larger crime spree, but instead, a targeted theft of just these two Chiefs stars, contrary to reporting by multiple other outlets. “Obviously, it's frustrating. It's disappointing, but I can't get into too many of the details because the investigation is ongoing. But it’s something you don't want to happen to anybody but obviously yourself,” Mahomes said in response to FOX4. As the rumor mill spins out of control, this story continues to gain traction. However, here's what we know for sure about the Mahomes residence burglary. According to Cass County deputies, the burglary happened on Sunday, October 6, the night before the Chiefs played the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead. It's known that a bodyguard of the Mahomes family called the police, and the report showed no indication of a forced entry. Police would not indicate whether or not anyone was at the residence, nor would Mahomes. "Yeah, I can't speak too much about the details of everything just with the investigation going on, but I'm sure at some point that will be talked about,” Mahomes said. As for the Chief’s tight end, who we know had his girlfriend Taylor Swift in town for the Monday night game, his residence was burglarized just after kickoff on Monday, October 7. This burglary, however, wasn't reported until the following morning. Police claim that the back door was damaged and $20,000 in cash was stolen. After the game, sources say that Kelce and Swift stayed at a hotel in downtown KC. For example, in the neighborhood where Mahomes lives, The Village of Loch Lloyd, sources say that if there is a security breach there's an automatic system notification. According to that source, that notification never happened and they have not been advised about any other incidents in Loch Lloyd aside from this one. This is an ongoing investigation, FOX4 will provide updates as they're made available.
