BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A Bloomington woman will serve 15 years behind bars after pleading guilty to driving drunk and causing a crash that claimed one man's life and severely injured a young child.

Previous reports detail how Hall was driving a 1998 Toyota 4Runner on Aug. 6, 2022, in Bloomington when she ran a red light and collided into a Chevrolet S-10 pickup. A 33-year-old Bloomington man and a 5-year-old boy were inside the pickup.
Both the man and the child were rushed to hospitals with the man ultimately dying from his injuries. The child suffered serious injuries and was flown to an Indianapolis hospital.
Hall was drunk and aggressive with hospital staff, police said. She reportedly spat on nurses and officers as they attempted to conduct a blood draw. Officers ended up putting a mesh cover over her mouth to prevent her from spitting on people. Hall responded by kicking an officer in the chest.
Now, she'll spend more than a decade behind bars.
