Tulsi to serve as Director of National Intelligence

HONOLULU (KHON2) -- President-elect Trump announced Wednesday that he had chosen Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence.
In the announcement, Trump praised Gabbardʻs dedication to serving the country as a four-term Congresswoman, presidential candidate, NYT Bestselling Author and veteran.
"For over two decades, Tulsi has fought for our Country and the Freedoms of all Americans. As a former Candidate for the Democrat Presidential Nomination, she has broad support in both Parties - She is now a proud Republican!" Trump said in the news release.
Feelings of financial insecurity take us into the holiday season
Gabbard first served in the Hawaii State House of Representatives before enlisting in the Army National Guard and volunteered to deploy to Iraq where she served in a medical unit. She went on to a second deployment as a Platoon leader.
She was a member of the Armed Services, Homeland Security, and Foreign Affairs committee during her time in Congress before leaving office to run for president as a democrat--the party that she left in October 2022.

Gabbard joined the Republican Party on Oct. 22.
"I know Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our Intelligence Community, championing our Constitutional Rights, and securing Peace through Strength," President-Elect Trump said in a news release.
