1 dead, 1 seriously injured after car rearends semi on I69 near Auburn

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - One person died and another was hospitalized after the car they were in crashed into a semitrailer on Interstate 69 near Auburn.
DeKalb County Central Communications posted on Facebook that I-69 northbound was being closed off around 2 p.m. near the 326 mile-marker. That's by the Auburn rest stop.

Indiana State Police confirmed one person died in the crash and another was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Based on the initial investigation, both victims were in a car that rear-ended a semi as it was slowing down on the highway.
The semi driver was not injured, ISP said.
A map showed traffic was stalled throughout the afternoon from roughly the Allen County line to Auburn.
For hours, authorities were diverting traffic off the highway at the exit for County Road 11A.
A crash happened Tuesday in the same area, where there is ongoing construction.
