BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A 23-year-old woman was arraigned on two charges Wednesday morning after allegedly stabbing a juvenile female Tuesday night at the Red Roof Inn on Flint Road, the Erie County District Attorney's Office announced.
Anghely Llamozas-Perez, who Amherst police said resides at the hotel, was charged with one count of second-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She faces a maximum of up to 7 years in prison, if convicted of the highest charge.
Amherst police said just after 5:30 p.m., officers responded to the inn for a reported fight involving a knife. The district attorney's office said Llamozas-Perez intentionally stabbed the victim with a kitchen knife. The victim was then transported to Oishei Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Two other people, a 32-year-old female and 27-year-old male, received defensive wounds from the knife, police said. The woman was treated on the scene and released while the man declined medical treatment.
Llamozas-Perez is scheduled to return for a felony hearing on Nov. 19. She was held without bail.
Law enforcement sources told WIVB News 4 that Llamozas-Perez is a migrant who was bused to the area from New York City.
The Red Roof Inn in Amherst is one of the placements for asylum seekers who came to Erie County. News 4 reached out to Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz and a spokesperson said the county has no oversight role with the asylum seekers program.
The spokesperson said any migrants who are in the area as of Dec. 31 without permanent placement will be bused back to New York City.
