Flower Box helps those in need with Caring Rose Week
Nov 13, 2024
MINOT, ND (KXNET) — This week is Caring Rose Week, and hundreds of florists across the region are joining in.
During the week, people can donate two food items, spend $10, and get a dozen roses.
Donations collected by the Flower Box in Minot will be going to a local food pantry, but they haven't decided which one yet.
Non-perishable goods like cookies, soup, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pasta, and others will be given to help those in need.

The promotion started on Monday, and the Flower Box has already collected four boxes of food.
Store workers say each year they see an increase in the amount of food collected, and they hope for the same this year.
"Well, it's about this time of year when families start to feel the pinch of financial burdens and with the holidays coming and everything. It's a good way to have them be able to go to the food pantries and get different items they might need or that they might not have," said Allison Reiswig, the manager of Flower Box.
Each year they try to pick a different food pantry and on Monday, they will decide where the donations will go.
The drive is going on until Saturday and you can drop off your items at the Flower Box.
