An affidavit stated that detectives spoke with a student at a local hospital. She said Butler had non-consensual sex with her during school hours. She told detectives she and Butler had been in communication for two weeks but notes she has known him for over a year, investigators said. The student said Butler texted her where to meet him on campus during school hours. Butler reportedly began to kiss her and pushed her into a closet removing clothes to access her body. The affidavit stated that she told detectives she didn't say anything because she was in a state of shock. Detectives searched the student’s cell phone and found messages between her and Butler, including a message where Butler said he wanted to lay her down “to get the full effect,” according to the arrest warrant, and discussed his erection and hearing noises during the reported sex act. Butler was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He was initially charged with one count each of third-degree rape and prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and a student. He was terminated after the school system conducted an investigation. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
