CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WRIC) — The University of Virginia (UVA) community will hold a moment of honor Wednesday afternoon in remembrance of the three student athletes who were killed in an on-campus mass shooting on Nov. 13, 2022.
The community will be asked to step outside at 1:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, for a moment of silence in honor of D'Sean Perry, Devin Chandler and Lavel Davis, Jr., followed by the playing of Amazing Grace and the tolling of the university's chapel bells.
"Tomorrow is going to be tough for many -- and rightfully so," said UVA football's head coach Tony Elliott. "It's going to be tougher for the Davis family, the Chandler family and the Perry family."

On Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, dozens of UVA students were returning to campus from a field trip in Washington, D.C. around 10:30 p.m. when one of those students opened fire.
Perry, Chandler and Davis were shot and killed while two other students -- former teammate Michael Hollins and Marlee Morgan -- were taken to the hospital for injuries.
