(DC News Now) -- Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) is part of Arlington National Military Cemeteries, which also consists of Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. ANC is located in Arlington County, Va., which is just across the Potomac River from the nation's capital. Arlington National Cemetery is under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Army and holds between 27 and 30 funeral services each weekday and between six and eight funderal services on Saturday. ANC sits on 639 acres of land and serves as a final resting place for many of those who served in the U.S. military and their spouses. There are speicific requirements to be buried or inturned.
