Stop Shop inventory across Massachusetts impacted due to cybersecurity issue

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Since Stop & Shop's cybersecurity attack last week, inventory has been impacted inside stores.
On Friday the parent company of Stop & Shop, Ahold Delhaize, released a statement that said an investigation is being conducted after a recent cybersecurity issue within its U.S. network. Their security team along with outside cybersecurity experts are working to detect the issue and take steps to further protect their systems.

Stop & Shop locations are open however, due to the investigation, services may be impacted at pharmacies, inventory in stores, and certain e-commerce operations such as purchasing items online.
This week customers have noticed bare shelves for certain items. In a statement sent to 22News from Stop & Shop on Wednesday, "Customers may continue to see more limited inventory than usual for certain products as the issue and our mitigation efforts have impacted the shipment of select products to our stores. We are working to ensure our shelves are restocked in the coming days. Stop & Shop is committed to serving our customers, and we appreciate their patience and understanding."
"The security of our customers, associates and partners remains a top priority," a statement from Ahold Delhaize USA.
