ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) - Five shoplifters were arrested in Enfield during a police operation to reduce retail theft during the holiday season. Skimming devices found at Springfield convenience stores, suspects sought According to the Enfield Police Department, on Monday one of the shoplifters who was arrested was allegedly caught with nearly $4,000 worth of merchandise while she was with her 12-year-old child. The woman had two active warrants for larceny in different cities. During the operation conducted by Enfield Community Police Officers in conjunction with loss prevention, a total of five people were arrested for shoplifting in various stores. The police department is working with retailers to identify and arrest shoplifters. They say that theft creates high-priced items, employment loss, and store closures.
