SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. (WWLP) - Firefighters in Worcester County are fighting a massive fire at an apartment complex Wednesday morning.
State tracking four brush fires in western Massachusetts
The two large wood-frame apartment buildings on Union Street in Southbridge caught fire early Wednesday morning just before 3:30 a.m. Southbridge's fire chief says a total of 30 people have been forced out of their homes, but everyone was able to escape the buildings safely.
The Red Cross is helping those residents and an emergency shelter has been set up.
The Massachusetts Fire Marshal's Office is looking into the cause of the fire.
