SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Georgia Governor Brian Kemp announced an extension of the State of Emergency Order issued after last week's heavy flooding.
The order will last until November 20 and covers the following counties: Atkinson, Ben Hill, Bryan, Bulloch, Candler, Chatham, Dodge, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Irwin, Jeff Davis, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lanier, Laurens, Lowndes, Montgomery, Screven, Tattnall, Telfair, Toombs, Treutlen and Wheeler.
Up to 18 inches of rain was reported in these areas and scores of roads were blocked as a result of the flooding.
