(WFRV) - Authorities in western Wisconsin say a drone and a K9 needed to be used to arrest a suspect believed to have "violent tendencies" while he fled from law enforcement Tuesday afternoon.
According to a release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, troopers from the Wisconsin State Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle going west around 1:00 p.m. on I-90/94 in Juneau County.

Officials say the suspect vehicle fled from the troopers at a high rate of speed leading the Wisconsin State Patrol to cancel the pursuit due to safety reasons.
Both deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and troopers found the vehicle in Monroe County causing it to speed off again before eventually coming to a rest in a ditch on I-94 between County Highway ET and Industrial Avenue.
After the vehicle came to rest in the ditch, the driver of the vehicle, 39-year-old Demetrius L. Johnson from Racine, who was wanted by the Wisconsin Department of Correction and was noted to have violent tendencies, fled on foot into a wooded area to the west of I-94.
Around 5:30 p.m., deputies reported that Johnson was seen walking on County Highway ET on the east city limits of Tomah. After being seen, Johnson was said to have fled again, this time going north on a snowmobile trail.

A perimeter was set up around the area and around 8:30 p.m., Johnson was found by a drone team and was arrested by the Monro County Sheriff's Office after being apprehended by a K9 unit.
Officials say Johnson was given medical treatment on scene before being taken to the Monroe County Jail.
