A Brooklyn man accused of killing his girlfriend and her 91-year-old stepfather slit their throats in their kitchen then changed out of his bloody clothes before police arrived, prosecutors say. Prosecutors didn’t offer any hint of 46-year-old Kerry Lewis’s motive for the killings at his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court Tuesday. Lewis, who appeared in court in a white Tyvek suit, was ordered held without bail on murder and weapon possession charges. He is accused of killing Roosevelt “Bubba” Simmons and 66-year-old Jacqueline “Jackie” Delyons, in their shared Cypress Hills house on Warwick St. near Arlington Ave. Sunday. (Gardiner Anderson for New York Daily News) A 61-year-old woman — described by a law enforcement source as Simmons’ daughter-in-law, who also lives in the house — came home at 3:45 p.m. and encountered Lewis at the top of the stairs putting on work gloves, Assistant D.A. Lesley Oseep said in court. “Bubby and Jackie are dead,” Lewis told the woman, according to Oseep. “The side door is open.” According to a police source, he also told the woman, “You know what happened,” after she asked. Police investigate after two bodies were found with stab wounds inside the house on Warwick St. in Brooklyn Sunday. (Gardiner Anderson for New York Daily News) She saw the bodies on the floor of the kitchen covered in blood, and ran out to call 911, Oseep said. When cops arrived, Lewis appeared at the entrance to the house then ran inside and officers rushed in and arrested him, the prosecutor said. Police found bloody clothing in Lewis’ bedroom and “multiple” bloody knives in the basement, prosecutors said. Surveillance video showed Lewis was the only other person home besides the victims before the witness showed up, according to a criminal complaint. (Facebook) Judge Christopher Whitehair ordered Lewis have no contact with the daughter-in-law or with Delyons’ son as Lewis awaits trial. Lewis’ lawyer, George Cooke of the Brooklyn Defender Services, reserved the right to argue for bail later and said that Lewis would need medical attention because he has seizures. Lewis returns to court Friday.
