West Geauga football coach Matt Rosati has been cleared of any wrongdoing after being placed administrative leave for the final three weeks of the season, his attorney, Vincent Calo told the News-Herald on Nov. 13.
“Coach Matt Rosati received a letter from the West Geauga school district reinstating him as a teacher and head football coach,” said Calo.
Rosati was placed on administrative leave on Oct. 10. In the statement, the school district said “a serious matter was recently brought to our attention regarding our football program. Last Wendeday, the administration received an allegation of improper conduct. The allegation reported is of the non-sexual nature.”
The school district went on to say in the letter that was distributed to parents that assistant Eric Stendalin would assume coaching duties going forward.
Through his attorney, Rosati denied any wrongdoing from the start.
“During this extremely stressful process, Coach Rosati has been overwhelmed and truly thankful for the outpouring of support he has received from the community; alumni from 22 states; fellow coaches and teachers; administrators and athletic directors he has worked with for the past 35 years; friends and family. He looks forward to resuming his career as a teacher and a coach and helping lead young men and women.”
