Highlands at Wyomissing introduces SMARTfit
Nov 13, 2024
The Highlands at Wyomissing, a life plan community in Berks County, recently introduced SMARTfit, a cutting-edge dual-tasking training system made possible by the generous contributions of residents through The Highland’s newly established Research and Innovation Fund.
This fund is intended to accelerate the translation of research to products, services and practices that address the needs and challenges of aging adults, particularly those suffering from dementia.
SMARTfit will be accessible to all residents and members of The Highlands Future Resident Club, ensuring community-wide benefit.
Backed by over 30 years of research, SMARTfit improves human performance by creating and strengthening neural pathways, helping users:
• Make quicker, smarter decisions
• Execute physical and mental tasks efficiently
• React faster and process information better
• Improve focus, balance, coordination, and speed
This powerful technology also builds cognitive reserve to delay cognitive decline, which is especially beneficial for those living with dementia.
With clinically proven benefits for rehabilitation, high-performance training and daily living activities, SMARTfit connects the brain and motor system in ways that enhance real-world performance.
