Austin Energy to install underground duct bank on Rainey Street

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Starting next month, Austin Energy and Capital Delivery Services will work on installing a new, underground electrical duct bank on Rainey Street. Austin Energy said the bank will house electrical lines from the Rainey Street Substation.
Capital Delivery Services hosted an online community meeting on Tuesday night to discuss how the construction will impact the area, and go over project details.
Austin Energy and Capital Delivery Services said the project will include:
Installation of 1,905 linear feet of electrical duct bank, adding new manholes and tying into existing manholes.
An existing water line being relocated to accommodate the new duct bank.
A storm drain will be added at the Cummings Street and Rainey Street intersection.
Storm drain being replaced along a segment of Rainey Street.
Phase one of the project is expected to be complete by next month.
