Nov 12, 2024
KETTERING, Md. (DC News Now)-- The search continues for the people who stole more than $100,000 worth of merchandise from Hot Heat Sneakers.
The early Friday morning break-in is the third of its kind at the store in just over a year.
"I'm pretty upset. I'm pretty upset. I'm trying to, you know, stay calm, stay positive," said Julian King, one of the owners of the store located in Kettering Plaza.
The thieves took sneakers, along with coats, jeans and other high-end items.

The break-in happened on Nov. 8 at around 1:30 a.m., just about three months after some stole a few thousand dollars worth of items during a free shoe giveaway. Thieves first stole $70,000 worth of merchandise in October 2023.
Despite the incidents, King is not ready to close up shop.
"This is what I love to do," King said. "This is a part of me. I've been doing this since I was 10 years old."
Prince George's County Police said the robbery is one of six that took place around the area last week. It's too early to tell if they are connected. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
