FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Noticing more drones than normal in the neighborhood? PG&E drone teams are flying about in Fresno County neighborhoods capturing photos of poles and power lines for the company's inspection teams. The utility says the drones allow them to take high-resolution photos of hard-to-reach areas to quickly find and fix potential issues. The flights will happen only during daylight hours, and inspections will take approximately 10 to 45 minutes per location. The inspections are currently underway, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office confirmed Tuesday. The neighborhoods in the following zip codes will be surveyed: 93602 - Auberry 93609 - Caruthers 93611 - Clovis 93619 - Clovis 93621 - Dunlap 93622 - Firebaugh 93722 - Fresno 93726 - Fresno 93234 - Huron 93631 - Kingsburg 93640 - Mendota 93641 - Miramonte 93646 - Orange Cove 93657 - Sanger 93675 - Yokuts Valley 93667- Tollhouse Those with questions can call 1-877-295-4949 or look for the drone pilots in reflective vests. The drone pilots will be PG&E employees or approved PG&E Contractors with PG&E contractor IDs, but please wait until the drone has safely landed before approaching the pilot.
