TOPEKA (KSNT) - The University of Kansas Men's Basketball Coach Bill Self made history in Tuesday night's victory over Michigan State.
With the 77-69 win, KU's fifth-straight in the Champions Classic series, Self passed legendary former KU coach Phog Allen to become the winningest coach in program history. Self was tied with Allen at 590 wins, a mark he reached against North Carolina in KU's previous matchup, entering the Champions Classic.
Now, Self sits alone atop the KU history books, with 591 all-time wins. His record in his 22 seasons at Kansas is now 591-143.
