Proposed TRAA Task Force put on hold again

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Fort Wayne City Council has been trying to decide how to monitor Three Rivers Ambulance Authority (TRAA).
The EMS service has struggled for years, and in July, some councilmembers proposed a task force that would monitor TRAA and find ways to fix its financial and service troubles.
After being held for several months, it was tabled once again Tuesday night.
"This is on top of last year, we held a related TRAA bill," said Russ Jehl, 2nd District City Councilman. "The reason we're holding it is TRAA is important. EMS service is so important."
Jehl points to three main reasons for the continuing hold.
"One, we're getting a new commissioner, so we might have someone from the county that we're able to work with. The mayor has also continued to do some work on her end internally, and also we are going to try and work out a few things with the county," Jehl said.
Jehl assumes that it will be held for a few more months, pushing the resolution into 2025.
