(KTLA) -- Krispy Kreme is giving away free doughnuts on Wednesday to celebrate World Kindness Day.
The first 500 guests who visit participating shops nationwide will receive a dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts for free, no purchase necessary. The offer is valid in the shop or at the drive-thru.
“World Kindness Day is a reminder that we can all make a positive impact in people’s lives, including through small gestures like sharing a sweet treat," Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme's global chief brand officer, said in a statement.
"We hope that each dozen Original Glazed doughnuts we give away enables and inspires many dozens of small acts of kindness,” he continued.

This promotion reflects Krispy Kreme’s ongoing practice of giving away free doughnuts for various causes and events, including on Veteran's Day earlier this week.
These giveaways also align with Krispy Kreme’s "Be Sweet" Responsibility Report, which states that the company aims to spread kindness through simple acts like giving away doughnuts or donating to charitable causes.
